FESCO starts Russia–Iran cross-Caspian cargo traffic

MOSCOW, Mar 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Far East Shipping Company (FESCO) and Marine Trade Port Olya have launched intermodal cargo traffic between Russia and Iran with shipments across the Caspian Sea, FESCO said in a statement Thursday.

The service includes railway and car deliveries, sea shipment and transshipments in the Port of Olya, Nowshahr and Bandar-e Anzali.

“The launch of the Trans-Caspian service opens new possibilities for development of transport connection between Russia and Iran. The sea delivery which is in the core of the service ensures minimal fees and time in transit, as compared with the land route,” FESCO said.
